Research and survey on electrical installation
Through a number of committees comprising its members, the Institute of Electrical Installation Engineers of Japan is engaged in research and survey, both on its own and commissioned by governmental or public authorities as well as private enterprises, on a variety of themes. This work is related to such areas of electrical installation engineering as electric power distribution systems of power companies, electrical installations owned by power consumers, information transmission and communication equipment, and data processing technology. The institute is also involved in elaboration of relevant standards and normative requirements for the industry.
Elaboration and drafting of proposals for standardization of electrical installation
Based on the survey of such domestic norms as JIS and the Japan Electrical Installation Engineering Standards as well as other international standards, the Institute draw up proposals for their amendment or modification to be submitted to the respective authorities as required, thus contribute in this way to the effort for standardization of electrical installation and equipment.
Publication of journals, reports and books
The Institute publishes for sale its monthly organ "The Journal of the Institute of Electrical Installation Engineers of Japan", reports and guides emanating from the studies or research as mentioned above.
Sponsoring of symposia, conferences and seminars
The Institute holds annual symposium for presentation and discussion of the results from research work carried out by its members on their own initiative. The Institute also organizes such events as conferences, seminars and visits to factories or other places of interest so as to enrich the knowledge of its members on the subject.
